Vic Pacs now on sale for a limited time!

Zippy’s, a local restaurant chain in Hawaii, is partnering with the Shane Victorino Foundation (SVF) once again to raise funds for underserved youth.  From October 1 through November 30, Zippy’s will be offering “Vic Pacs” for sale at each of its locations throughout the State of Hawaii.  SVF receives $0.50 from each Vic Pac sold.  In addition, patrons may purchase baseball cutouts for $1 or make a donation at designated donation boxes.

Philadelphia Phillies’ Gold Glove Center Fielder and Maui-native Shane Victorino, and his wife Melissa, established the Shane Victorino Foundation in February 2010 to promote opportunities for underserved youth in Hawaii and Philadelphia by engaging in projects which provide children with educational, recreational and wellness programs.  In Hawaii, the Foundation supports programs and projects that specifically carry out their mission. Funds are awarded annually to qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations who submit applications through an RFP (Request For Proposals) process. Since 2008, Shane and Melissa have raised more than $375,000 through the Shane Victorino Celebrity Dinner & Golf Classic that is held each November in Maui, Hawaii. Past beneficiaries include the Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui, Waipio Little League and St. Anthony School.

The Foundation pledged nearly $1 million over three years to Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia to renovate their 105-year old Nicetown unit, located in an impoverished area of the city. A grand reopening ceremony for the Shane Victorino Nicetown Boys & Girls Club was held on September 22, 2011. Shane joins the elite company of only a handful of MLB players with clubs in their names.
